"The Locals"

We are André Sundero and Karola Wenzel. For over 20 years, we have worked together as hotel hosts and guides for visitors to Jotunheimen and Besseggen. 
We look forward to every tour and love discovering new things together with you. André is a passionate angler in summer and an avid cross-country skier in winter. Karola prefers running mountain trails and completed training in nature-based therapeutic work in 2026. Our white shepherd dog, Frost, often joins us on our tours.
No two experiences are the same, and our knowledge of nature and culture continues to grow every day. Being able to share this with you is, for us, a meaningful contribution to a more sustainable society.

We answer your enquiries and lead our tours ourselves. You’ll meet either Karola or André, and we both speak Norwegian, English and German.

The mountains

The valleys around Jotunheimen mountain range hold deep cultural roots to present-day Norway. Gudbrandsdalen, Heidal, Ottadalen and all the side- and alp valleys are shaped by a culture formed in harmony with the rugged mountain nature. Small rural communities have developed unique survival techniques across generations in tune with the nature that fascinates both locals and visitors. Summer farming was added to the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage in 2024.
Today's consumer society has much to learn from a culture that lived in balance with nature in a circular economy.

Join us

on a journey through nature and local history around Jotunheimen. We will take you where there are no marked trails or where paths and stories have become overgrown. All our tours are guaranteed with a minimum of 1 participant. We ensure a leave-no-trace approach with respect for nature and cultural heritage.
