The hidden valley
A hike in an area far from the beaten track. We first stroll along a good path through typical summer farm and grazing landscapes, cross some streams, then pass through an old, wild moraine landscape with many kettle hole lakes. The walk continues along a beautiful little river with crystal-clear water, above the tree line and into an area where reindeer herds gather during calving. Magnificent views towards the peaks of Jotunheimen. The tour themes include livestock grazing, moose, glacial landscapes, reindeer and fishing.
The walk takes place at altitudes between 1000 and 1300 metres above sea level. The route is hilly, both on and off paths, around 15 km. We meet at Sjodalstugu café on road 51 in Sjodalen. From there, by private cars, partly on toll roads, approx. 20 minutes to the starting point.
